Fun in the Sun…

I love shooting at the beach in the summer.  It feels so effortless when the children are in their “element” and just playing and splashing and having fun.  However, I was an old “meanie” when I had to coax everyone to leave the water and go where the light was best by some trees and beach grass, which seemed much less fun, I’m sure:).

Elegance on the Beach

There’s something so elegant about black and white clothing on the beach. Add in a beautiful, natural family and it makes for one amazing shoot!

New Look Unveiled!

Every 1 or 2 years I stand back and see what I can do to stay current with my website and usually it entails taking down and putting up more recent photos:). This year I decided it was time for a COMPLETE makeover. I’ve worked with the great graphic team, Luxecetera (luxecetera.com), in the past and had to have them help me again! They’re AMAZING!! Eva Talley is one of the best out there. I had full confidence she understood what I wanted and she did not disappoint! She wanted to ensure it would be something that felt “custom” and all I can say is it makes me want to open up my own natural light studio so I can really go to town with it;). In the meantime, I will have fun with my new splash, website, blog, business cards, etc.

Thank you to all my wonderful clients for allowing me to capture beautiful, candid moments of their children and showcase them in my galleries. I feel very fortunate:).

Trip to Connecticut…

I had the pleasure of shooting a wonderful family in Connecticut this past April.  The town they live in is the perfect setting to raise a family.    Everything was in walking distance including a beautiful riverfront, parks, and farmer’s markets.  Sofia, 5, and her sister, Emilia, 3, have spent each morning growing up feeding the ducks by the water.  I was also impressed that there wasn’t a television in sight and the girls’ relaxed, attentive personalities were testament to that.  Here are a few pictures to share:

What an Honor…

My husband and I had the pleasure to sit down with Linda Bendorf (writer for the Chicago Tribune) for an up-close and personal interview about the business.   We sat down with her at her house over wine and cheese and it was great fun recounting some of our early experiences and reasons we went into the business.   Linda was great at pulling memories I had completely forgotten about:)

The article was originally just going to be in the online version, but the editor liked the article so much that he put it on the front page of today’s (11/26) print edition!  If you’re in the NW burbs of chicago, pick up a copy, or you can read it here:
